A little about JILL (Walkinton) and (Alison) LEWIS
We are long – standing friends who both started out teaching – and writing material for – reluctant readers.
We decided to join forces and write things we loved for very young children. We combined our names: JILL (Walkinton) and (Alison) LEWIS so many people still think that we are one person.
Already Jill Lewis has 8 published books
With 8 published books and hopefully more to come, we have visited literary festivals, libraries and schools all over the country but still manage to keep one day a week purely for writing even though our lives and families keep us busy.

Jill Walkinton
Jill has specialised in teaching children with dyslexia in Sussex for many years and is an educational consultant to a new series of films about dyslexia which will appear on the BBC Teach site in the ‘Teacher Support’ section https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/teacher-support and
Alison Lewis
Alison works in theatre for young children on shows such as Peppa Pig live and Teletubbies Live, https://fierylight.co.uk for which we also write the accompanying activity brochure content.
Illustrated by well-known artists
Our published stories have been illustrated by well-known artists such as Simon Rickerty, Deborah Allwright and Ali Pye.

Don’t Read This Book won the Hampshire Illustrated Book Award, Bronze in the Practical Preschool Playgroups’ Awards and was short listed for the British Design and Production Awards 2009
